7 Jan, 2025: Columbian Updates

Writer's picture: Zara DayZara Day

One of the worst things about setting a goal for the year is that feeling if you can't do it. I gave myself a goal to finish a book every other year. I finished one in 2020, 2022, and 2024. I would like to finish a book by the end of this year, but the main conflict of this book isn't settled yet and I've written almost everything surrounding the main conflict already, all very good because they have been planned since 2020. I will probably spend the next week plotting an outline for the book. Maybe that will help. I did that with a whiteboard when writing book two, which helped a lot.

I genuinely am happy with progress made so far. I have 27,000 words written so far, about 40% of London and Neapolitan with this book maybe being the longest of the series.I think I've written 3,500 words (14 pages) in the last few days, mostly about a pivotal scene about halfway through the book. This scene was very satisfying the write because I've had it planned since 2020 which is why it came out so smoothly. I wish the whole book could be like that. Maybe it will soon.
